THE DRIVING PURPOSE
Scott Hoffman, a Nebraska native, discovered his passion for golf course design at a young age, sketching holes on church bulletins and honing his game on local courses. After competing in prestigious junior tournaments at Muirfield Village and Yale, he played college golf at Nebraska and Creighton but found his true calling
in course architecture. He spent 13 years as a senior design associate for renowned architect Tom Fazio, contributing to nearly 40 high-profile projects, including Gozzer Ranch, Martis Camp, and Pronghorn.
Following his tenure with Fazio, Hoffman collaborated with Jackson Kahn Design on elite courses
such as Monterey CC Dunes Course and Scottsdale National. Eventually, he launched his own design firm, fulfilling a lifelong dream by creating Lost Rail Golf Club near Omaha. Opened in 2022, Lost Rail quickly gained recognition, earning 94th US in Top 100 Golf Courses and Runner Up Golf Digest Best New Private Club. Hoffman's work continues to shape the landscape of modern golf architecture with a blend of artistry and strategic design.
